The original planning application for the first stage of the ‘out-dated relief road proposal’ was mysteriously withdrawn by the developers... maybe in attempt to allow public opinion cool down. However, it has been resubmitted, as a new application and this means that your previous objections don’t count!
We must now send as many objections as possible before the 24th June and ArleseySay has simplified the procedure to save you time & effort.
1. If you sent an objection before, you can use the same one again, just update the application number as shown below.
2. If you have not previously objected, the guide will help you to quickly formulate one.
3. Objections can be submitted online: CLICK HERE.
Remember to include your name & address to validate your objection.
It is a nuisance... and none of us want the bother of this but this is a crucial point for Arlesey’s future and will affect all residents. If this section of road is allowed, it will open the floodgates for developers to build up to 1000 new houses in our village and cause misery for all residents, for some 15 years to come.
The developer’s bank on our apathy to win, so please do make the effort once again.
The new planning application numbers are:
• For the section of link road = CB/10/01830/FULL • Remodelling of High Street = CB/10/01831/OUT
(The second application is integral with the road plans & so is also detrimental for Arlesey’s long term future).
Please ask your neighbours to send in their objections too. These applications are not progress nor regeneration for our village. They are simply ways for developers who don’t live here to make fortunes at our expense.
The Local Development Framework, (or LDF), is now under consideration by Central Bedfordshire Council's LDF Team. It will determines Arlesey's future for more than a decade to come and is FUNDAMENTALLY FLAWED.
It includes the building of over 1000 more houses in Arlesey & will cause misery for ALL residents, for many reasons & once passed... IT WILL BE UNSTOPPABLE.
The LDF Team will pass your comments to the Government Inspector who will hopefully decide that Arlesey's plans need a rethink, and reject this proposal.
The deadline for submitting comments passed on 15th March 2010. Thanks to everyone who has sent in an objection.
We will keep members up to date with the outcome via email and this website.
Please note, ArleseySay Ltd isa resident's concern group and is not anti-progress. Progress is good and essential for any community.
We're just fed up of housing developments being approved irresponsibly - causing inconvenience and danger to existing residents, just so the developers & their associates can benefit.
Do we want more housing in Arlesey? We already have more than our fair share...
Do we want a relief road in Arlesey? Our's would actually bring more traffic!
